Thomas J. Jones put his dream into action when in 1917 he opened the doors to the Jones Insurance Agency in Factoryville, PA. By the 1930’s he needed to hire his son-in-law Willard K. Davis to handle their growing business. At that time, a partnership was created-Davis and Jones Insurance Agency.

In 1955, grandson Tom Davis, CPCU joined the partnership upon graduating from the University of Pennsylvania. One year after joining the Agency, Davis’ grandfather died and his father retired due to health reasons. This left Tom responsible for the agency and its success.

In the mid 60’s, Harry Gregory of Clarks Summit joined the partnership as the Agency’s first additional salesperson. In 1978, Jack Kyle joined Davis and Gregory as the third partner. The Agency incorporated and became known as Davis, Gregory & Kyle, Inc.

In the 80’s, as DGK became more specialized, computers and sales professionals were brought in to better serve our clients. Jack Kyle’s son Jeffrey came on board in ‘81, Tom Davis’ daughter Beth O’Malley, CPCU, ARM in ‘82, and in ’86 his son Jim Davis, CPCU, ARM, in ’87 Richard Doeringer, CLU, ChFC, in 2000 Bridget White, AU, AIC, ASLI, CISR, AINS, in 2006 Sean Pieretti, AINS, API, AIC, AIS, in 2012 Dale Baumes, AINS, and in 2015 Stephanie Holdt, NSSA, to complete what is known as our DGK sales team.

In 1995, Tom Davis, CPCU retired and Kathleen Glattly, CPCU, AIM, CLU, ChFC became our President/CEO. Today DGK is an employee-owned company, and has grown to employ 22 local professionals.

DGK’s philosophy has always emphasized that education is one of the most important tools needed to provide superior customer service. In that same measure, there are specific educational requirements of all agents. Many have more advanced training and are Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (CPCU) or Chartered Life Underwriters (CLU). Additionally, DGK offer incentives to those who continue their education and training. In-house workshops and seminars are provided on topics such as risk management, financial strategies and team building. Our team approach is an effort to provide each customer with the most comprehensive services.

Today DGK offers much more than the personal lines products (such as homeowners, personal auto policies, and umbrellas, etc.) it opened its doors with back in 1917. Commercial insurance for business owners, and farmowners. Additionally, DGK specializes in providing insurance for municipalities and volunteer fire companies, now insuring more than 100 municipalities in Northeast Pennsylvania and over 80 volunteer fire companies in over sixteen different counties.

Our Financial Services department can provide life insurance, estate planning, education funding strategies, group accident, health and disability insurance, long term care coverage, assistance with retirement planning and investment strategies including brokerage account services. In 2015, DGK added a Senior Solution department headed up by National Social Security Advisor, Stephanie Holdt who provides a full complement of services from Health Insurance to educating senior citizens to make informed decisions about Medicare and Social Security.

Through years of hard work and our devoted team, DGK has become a well managed, growing organization which is recognized as an insurance, risk management and financial services leader in its expanding service area. Because we are employee-owned, each team mate has a vested interest and each takes on a personal responsibility to do their best for our customers and our company. Taking the uncertainty out of the future, to protect our clients from financial loss.
